SCM30 Solar Charge Controller MPPT
A solar charge controller is required to safely connect a solar panel to the battery. This controller charges the battery as efficiently as possible and protects it against fluctuating charging currents and deep discharge.
MPPT stands for Maximum Power Point Tracking and is a technique that allows a charge controller to get more power from a solar inverter than if it did not contain MPPT technology. This technique determines the optimal operating point so that maximum power efficiency can be achieved, and then converts this into a lower battery voltage. A MPPT charge current controller can extract up to 30% more power from a solar panel than one without MPPT.
